Anybody who is struggling to pay their energy bills amid the ongoing cost of living crisis could be eligible for some vital financial support from British Gas.The energy giant started up the Individuals and Families fund back in 2021, aimed at helping people clear their energy debts by administering grants of £1,500.
That sum has now been bumped up to £2,000 in the wake of Christmas, and you don't even need to be a British Gas customer in order to be considered.
Birmingham Live reports that applications are open to anyone who lives in Scotland, England or Wales, and has energy debts amounting to £1,500 or more.
You must also have a credit energy account, or use a pre-payment meter in your main residenceAnyone who has received a grant from British Gas Energy Trust within the last two years won't be accepted, and you also must be facing fuel poverty and have received help from a money advice agency.
