The Celtic squad found in Perth on Sunday’s it’s not always going to be a bed of roses under Brendan Rodgers. But at least the Hoops boss will treat his players like flowers.

Rodgers admitted he got a bit thorny at McDiarmid Park after a woeful first half against St Johnstone. The message was received loud and clear as Celtic blossomed after the break against Saints but there’s a sense Rodgers is determined to weed out any signs of complacency in his squad ahead of Hibs on Wednesday night.

He said: “I think praise and criticism come hands in hand."I always say it’s like the flower. A flower needs the sunshine and the rain.
