The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, is recuperating with family after undergoing an operation following a breast cancer diagnosis.
The 63-year-old, formerly married to Prince Andrew, received the news of her diagnosis following a routine mammogram screening.
The spokesperson added that the prognosis is good, with Fergie now at home recuperating with family.A spokesperson for the duchess confirmed the royal required surgery and is now recovering, saying: "She was advised she needed to undergo surgery which has taken place successfully."
