A man has been charged following fires at the iconic Midland Hotel and the Royal Exchange Arcade in Manchester city centre. Police said firefighters responded to a blaze at the Royal Exchange on Cross Street on Thursday, December 21.
Crews then responded to another fire at The Midland Hotel on Peter Street on Tuesday, January 9. James Carter, 22, of no fixed abode, has now been charged in connection with both fires.
