A boy of 16 who was hit by a cop car in Bolton escaped with minor injuries, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed. The boy was hit on St Helens Road, in the Daubhill area, at around 7am on Friday morning (October 6).
Police said initially the full extent of his injuries was 'unknown at this time'. Today (Saturday) the force confirmed he was not seriously injured. The investigation is ongoing." The teenager was taken to hospital from the scene, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed.
Officers cordoned off a stretch of the road, near the junction with Church Avenue, after the incident. Pictures from the scene showed the police car with its left wing mirror hanging off and a major dent in the windscreen.
