A 14-year-old boy who was arrested after a girl was stabbed at a high school in south Manchester last year has been released without charge, police have confirmed.
The incident happened at Parrs Wood High School in Didsbury on January 24 last year. A 14-year-old girl was attacked with a broken bottle, the M.E.N haspreviously reported.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene. He was taken into custody for questioning and later released on bail as a police investigation continued. The school, rated 'good' by Ofsted inspectors, has made no public comment since the incident. Parents were sent an email that confirmed brief details of the incident and said some pupils may arrive home upset following events at the school.
