Kate Garraway has revealed that a comment made by an Amazon delivery driver 'took her breath away' this week after she was called a widow for the first time. The TV presenter returned to Good Morning Britain for the first time on Thursday after an extended break following the death of husband Derek Draper.Discussing her week, Kate said that she felt her stomach drop when a delivery driver shared his sympathy with her after learning of Derek's sad death, writes The Mirror.

On Thursday, when she appeared alongside co-host and friend Ben Shephard, Kate explained: "The other day, somebody called me a widow for the first time.

It took my breath away. It was an Amazon delivery person. He said 'I'm so sorry for your loss now that you're a widow'. "You suddenly realise what everyone goes through and that every single moment is something new.

We've all just got to get through it and everybody has all sorts of things that they are facing. I really get what people feel about these things now." To which co-host Ben replied: "There are moments in grief that you aren't expecting and then suddenly someone is being kind and it hits you." It comes after Kate admitted that she was in 'floods of tears' whilst in the GMB makeup room this morning before going on air.
