manchestereveningnews.co.ukBolton Wanderers have paid tribute to a lifelong fan who died after collapsing at their match yesterday. Iain Purslow, 71, who was from Oldham, fell ill during their League 1 match against Cheltenham Town at Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday (January 13).
The game was halted and then abandoned after Mr Purslow, who was at the game supporting the Whites with his son Stuart, suffered a suspected cardiac arrest in the stands.
He was taken to hospital however the club today shared the sad news that he passed away. In a statement issued this afternoon (Sunday) BWFC said: "Bolton Wanderers are deeply saddened to confirm that the supporter taken ill at yesterday afternoon’s home fixture against Cheltenham Town has passed away.
