Thousands of people - including dozens in Greater Manchester - remain without power this morning (Monday) after Storm Isha wreaked havoc.
The UK was battered by winds of up to 90mph in parts of the country and up to 80mph in the North West yesterday (Sunday) and overnight.
As a result, there was what has been described as 'widescale damage' to power lines due to falling trees and debris. Thousands of people were last night cut-off, including over 400 in Stockport. The region's power provider Electricity North West (ENW) told the Manchester Evening News that around 8,000 people remain without power this morning.
This includes just under 100 in Greater Manchester. According to the ENW website, among the areas still currently without power are parts of Hazel Grove in Stockport where 53 properties are affected, and Saddleworth in Oldham where at least 16 people are currently off the grid.
