Adam Rooney has urged Aberdeen fans to keep the faith withBarry Robsonand insists his old team-mate wasn't beyond dabbling in the dark arts in search of victory.
After 18 matches, the Dons find themselves in eighth position in the Premiership table, having collected just 22 points. Robson's men do have several games in hand on the teams above them but will have a lot to do if they want to bridge the 17-point gap between themselves and Hearts in third place.
Sections of the Aberdeen support have become disgruntled with Robson's management and his choice of tactics and are actively calling for a change in the dugout. But speaking to Record Sport, Rooney believes the under-fire boss deserves more time to get the Reds back on track.
He said: "He started really well but has obviously had a tough time of late. It's a difficult job for anyone there when the manager and groups of players have been changing every year or so."They need to give someone time to build a squad over a number of transfer windows and have a style of play that suits everyone to get the team going again.
