‘Anatomy Of A Fall’: Read The Screenplay For Justine Triet’s Murder Mystery That Won Cannes’ Palme d’Or

The Cannes Palme d’Or winner from French filmmaker Justine Triet (only the third woman ever to take that top prize) is co-written by Triet and Arthur Harari.
Last week, it scooped Best International Feature and Best Screenplay at the Gotham Awards. Anatomy of a Fall follows Sandra (Sandra Hüller), a German writer; her French husband Samuel; and their 11-year-old son Daniel who live a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps.
When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he committed suicide or was killed. Samuel’s death is treated as suspicious, presumed murder, and Sandra becomes the main suspect.
