One managerial legend was seen entertaining another last weekend as Pep Guardiola chatted to Neil Warnock after Manchester City's win over Sheffield United.

On X, formerly Twitter, Warnock posted a picture of himself and City boss Guardiola along with the caption: “Just a couple of fellas who love talking about football." With a managerial career dating back to the 1980s, Warnock is considered one of the most experienced coaches in football.

Warnock recently spent time with Huddersfield Town, helping them avoid relegation to League One before leaving in the opening weeks of the 2023/24 campaign. After the game, Warnock admitted he couldn't believe the reception De Bruyne received while warming up following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, saying: “I’ve never been at a ground where 50,000 people are standing up clapping for a substitute warming up!” Despite the loss for his former club, Warnock could not help but applaud the Blues, singling out Phil Foden for praise. “He just gets it now," he said. "He’s always had the talent, no one’s ever been more talented than Phil Foden, from the second we saw him in a blue shirt.” Foden claimed both assists in the victory as City made it back-to-back league wins since they returned from their successful Club World Cup campaign in Saudi Arabia.
