A popular drop tower ride in the dark is returning to Alton Towers next week. As families prepare to visit for May half term, the resort has announced the return of Nemesis Sub-Terra.
It's bound to cause a bit of confusion, as it's not the Nemesis rollercoaster that some visitors may think it is. That is currently being rebuilt ahead of a 2024 reopening.
It is however a separate ride that sits next to the coaster and has been closed for a number of years. Read more: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community The underground attraction, which is a firm favourite among theme park fans, invites guests to 'embark on an intense journey and witness the research of The Phalanx, before freefalling into the pit'.
The Phalanx is a 'secret organisation tasked with keeping the Nemesis beast under control' and riders 'are invited to look, stay alert, but don’t touch, as you’re shown exciting glimpses of a Nemesis egg'.
