Eredivisie champions Ajax are reportedly considering a return for Donny van de Beek following his frustrating spell at Manchester United.

The Dutchman played just 10 times, of which just four were starts, before knee surgery in January ended his season. Van de Beek departed Erik ten Hag’s Ajax for Old Trafford in 2020 but has failed to stamp his mark on the club.

The 25-year-old has mostly been used as a rotation player and eventually secured a short-term loan at Everton during the second half of last season, although spent most of it injured. Now Football Insider claims that Ajax are mulling over offering a return for Van de Beek. United paid around £40m for the midfielder but are reportedly resigned to the fact that the player will be sold on for less, perhaps around £25m given he still has two years left on his deal.
