454 and Surf Gang are two leading lights of New York City's rap scene. Surf Gang co-founder Evilgiane has parlayed his collective’s local underground success into production credits for A$AP Rocky (“OUR DE$TINY“), Earl Sweatshirt (“Making The Band“), and Kendrick Lamar & Baby Keem (“The Hillbillies“).

454, originally a Florida native, broke out of the pluggnb wave to create an addictive, gossamer sound all his own. (Fast Trax 3, his most recent full-length, was one of our favorite albums of 2022).

On July 12, 454 and Surf Gang will release a collaborative five-track EP called Fast 5. Its lead single, “Gangster Party,” out now, is a showcase of deceptively tough sweetness in both its dreamy, extraterrestrial beat and 454’s lyrical split between personal confession and back-of-the-club flexing.

Hear the song, co-produced by Evilgiane and Eera, in the music video streaming above. Read Next: MIKE enlists Noname, 454, and Georgia Anne Muldrow for Young World III festival.
