Another weather warning has been issued for parts of Greater Manchester as the cold snap continues in the north of England. Met Office forecasters have warned up to 15cm of snow could fall on higher ground overnight.

The yellow snow warning covers mainly hilly areas in the east of Rochdale, Oldham and Bury. It runs from 8pm tonight (Sunday) to noon on Monday.

It says: "Rain will likely fall as snow to relatively low levels for a time this evening and at first tonight across parts of northern England, giving a few centimetres of additional cover locally.

Snow should become confined to the higher parts of northern and central Wales, as well as northern England with time, leading to accumulations of 2-5cm on some roads above around 150m, and perhaps 10-15 cm on roads above around 350m.
