Eleven abandoned rabbits have been rescued after being discovered in cardboard boxes in a park. Among the homeless bunnies are four babies just a few days old.

The 'cold and wet' animals were discovered in a park in Rochdale on Saturday morning by two 'kind' passers-by who took them to a nearby RSPCA sanctuary.

They are now in 'relatively good health'. The discovery was revealed by RSPCA's Hollingworth Lake Animal Centre on its Facebook page on Saturday afternoon (December 23), together with pictures of the furry pets in cardboard boxes full of straw.
