A woman walked out of her friend's wedding after spotting what she called an "outrageous rule" on the food menu during the reception. The mum was left fuming as the couple had two menus for their guests, one for men and another for women - and she claims most guests were outraged by their idea.

The decision was apparently made because the groom's parents are "very traditional". Men were served a mushroom risotto while female guests had prawns for the starter.

As reported by the Mirror, women then tucked into grilled chicken and new potatoes for the main course and men were served roast beef.

For pudding, the men had a chocolate bomb and women had strawberry shortcake. Posting on Mumsnet, the woman wrote: "It was perfectly pleasant until we sat down to the wedding breakfast to see the menu was divided by sex."Everybody at the table was outraged but no one said anything.
