Tweetdeck users have been left perplexed after logging on to discover the site is no longer available. The useful dashboard allows people to view multiple timelines at once, offering a more convenient way to browse Twitter.
Tweetdeck has now been rebranded to X Pro, after CEO Elon Musk rebranded Twitter to X in July this year. Originally an independent app, TweetDeck was acquired by Twitter Inc.
and integrated into Twitter's interface. It was free to use, but it's now been put behind the controversial Twitter Blue paywall. As of Wednesday (August 16), when users attempt to use Tweetdeck they are taken to the main Twitter homepage and are encouraged to sign up to Twitter Blue.
A pop-up box explains the perks of signing up to the service. For £100.80 a year, users can not only gain access to Tweetdeck, but can also view twice as many tweets, post longer videos and edit their posts.
