Everton could face a record-breaking 12-point deduction as the Premier League recommends a harsh punishment for allegedly breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
This would be the biggest points deduction in Premier League history, even more than Portsmouth's nine-point deduction in 2010 and Middlesbrough's three-point deduction in 1997.
If found guilty, Everton, who are currently 16th in the Premier League table, would find themselves at the bottom with -5 points.
Even without such a heavy punishment, they are still among the favourites for relegation.
