Vulnerable children across South Lanarkshire will be supported thanks to new council plans

South Lanarkshire councillors have approved plans to recruit a counsellor to help local children and families who have been exposed to trauma.At the Social Work Resources Committee on Thursday, December 6, elected members heard of plans to deliver support to those who have faced trauma or adversity by recruiting a trauma recovery counsellor to work with those affected.Plans to recruit the specialist have been set in motion as the council have identified a gap in supporting young people and families who have been exposed to trauma, especially for those who do not meet the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) referral threshold.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
