The venue that Oasis are named after is also making a comeback - after being shut for four years. Ambitious plans to transform the 'neglected' Oasis Leisure Centre dome are set to be submitted later this year - that offer a final chance to re-open the iconic venue.

The centre was the reason for Liam and Noel Gallagher to name their now world famous group as its name appeared on a tour poster hanging in a bedroom they shared.

But it was closed down in 2020 due to "challenging operating conditions" amidst Covid-19 lockdowns. Now, Seven Capital, the buildings leaseholders, have drawn up plans to restore the facilities iconic domed roof - making it more energy-efficient whilst still protecting the Grade II-listed status of the dome and pool.
