Aberdeen are set to continue their summer transfer drive with the capture of HJK Helsinki wide man Topi Keskinen. As revealed by Record Sport on Friday, Jimmy Thelin wants the 21-year-old to become his fifth signing of the window and bolster his options in forward areas.
Keskinen - who has scored six goals in 17 games in the Veikkausliiga this year - has been known to the Dons since lining up against them in last season's UEFA Europa Conference League.Back in January, HJK turned down a €1million offer for the player from English Championship side Blackburn Rovers, but fresh reports from Finnish outlet MTV Urheilu claim that Aberdeen will sign the winger for just over €1million (£856,000).
They also add that Keskinen has rejected the chance to join an unnamed MLS club in favour of a move to Pittodrie and that he is set to jet into the north east of Scotland for a medical in the next few days.Should the Finland U21 international complete the move to the Granite City, then he would become one of the club's most expensive acquisitions, having forked out €1.3million for Netherlands star Hans Gilhaus from PSV Eindhoven back in 1989, and just just shy of £1million each for strikers Billy Dodds and Dean Windass in 1994 and 1995 respectively.
