Some of Manchester's best chefs and restaurants are set to host massive street feast

A charity food festival is coming back to Manchester next month, raising money for victims of torture. The Great Street Feast Manchester will be returning on Thursday 10 October, with six restaurants and chefs from around the city working together to raise money for the charity Freedom from Torture.

This follows last year’s event, where £35,000 was raised to support survivors of torture living in the Northwest - a figure they’re aiming to match this time around. "After seeing the impact of the recent far-right violence on survivors we support in the area, this event is the perfect way to demonstrate solidarity with refugees and support for services like ours, helping those who’ve survived torture to rebuild their lives in our communities across the North West.” Fan favourites such as the popular Indian restaurant Dishoom and Middle Eastern eatery Maray will be serving dishes, and the refugee chef and torture survivor Nafa will be making desert, after rediscovering her love of cooking when she joined the charities baking group.

Also involved in this event will be Sam Buckley, Chef Patron at Stockport restaurant Where The Light Gets In, Sam Grainger, Chef Patron at Medlock Canteen, and chefs Melanie and Michael at The Little Sri Lankan.
