Titanic director James Cameron 'approached to create series about Titan sub disaster'

Iconic director James Cameron is said to be 'ready' to direct a drama series based on the doomed journey of the Titan sub to the Titanic wreckage.James, who directed the multi-award winning 1997 movie Titanic, is reportedly said to be having discussions with a major streaming platform about the production just weeks after the disaster happened, writes The Mirror.There were five passengers on board the small submersible, and they all sadly lost their lives after their journey went catastrophically wrong.

It's thought that the vessel imploded "in under a second" on its journey to the bottom of the ocean.And following the disaster, which was reported worldwide, Cameron is allegedly set to try tell the story on the small screen.A source told The Sun: "The Titan disaster is already being looked at as a major series for one of the world’s biggest streamers — and James is first choice for director.

It is a subject close to his heart."He told the story of the Titanic so compassionately it feels like a natural step for him to take this on.
