A warning has been issued surrounding a long-term medical condition that shows signs when people wake up in the morning.Fibromyalgia is a condition that can affect any age, but typically shows up between the ages of 25 and 55, reports the Mirror.While there is no known cure for the illness, there are treatments that can help lessen or relieve some of the painful symptoms.The condition causes pain across the entire body, but the NHS says a symptom of the disease tends to show up in the morning, when people wake up.The red flag is that people wake up still feeling tired and lethargic, despite getting a full night's sleep.
The NHS states: "This is because the condition can sometimes prevent you sleeping deeply enough to refresh you properly. You may hear this described as non-restorative sleep."Fibromyalgia is thought to be linked to unusual levels of specific chemicals inside someone's brain, and the way in which the nervous system processes messages of pain - but there is no stand-alone cause.Theories behind these chemical imbalances have included the likes of it being a genetic condition, as well as being triggered by emotional or physical things, like stress or an infection.There are a lot of symptoms of fibromyalgia, with people urged to see their GP if they spot any - with the painful signs able to be treated effectively.The NHS noted: "The symptoms of fibromyalgia are changeable – for example, they can sometimes suddenly improve or get worse."See a GP if you think you have fibromyalgia.
