The One Show presenters Roman Kemp and Alex Jones were visibly emotional in a poignant part of Wednesday's episode. The duo hosted a heart-touching Children In Need segment, where they encountered several inspirational young individuals who belonged to the Children In Need Challenge Squad and shared their personal stories.It was the story from Tanisha, a 17-year-old from Slough, which moved the presenters to tears.
Tanisha opened up about the harrowing time when her father Mario was diagnosed with esophageal cancer when she was just fourteen, the Mirror reports.Despite enduring chemotherapy and radiotherapy for nine months, his life could sadly not be saved. .
Following Mario's passing, Tanisha's family received support from Thames Hospice, a beneficiary of BBC Children in Need funds, who assisted them through their grief.
The care that she experienced inspired Tanisha to offer support to other youngsters grappling with similar losses. Upon hearing Tanisha's experience, cameras captured Roman wiping his eyes, while an audibly choked-up Alex spoke directly to Tanisha's mother in the studio audience, commending Tanisha's bravery: "It's a huge loss to you as a family, you must be so proud of her."Alex also expressed empathy, stating: "Losing a parent?
