Meghan Markle sent Taylor Swift a handwritten invitation to appear on her now cancelled podcast but the pop superstar declined the offer.

The Duchess of Sussex has recently been dropped by Spotify following their $20million deal, which only resulted in 12 episodes of her podcast Archetypes. It's now been reported by the Wall Street Journal that Meghan sent a personal letter to the Cruel Summer hitmaker inviting her on the show but she declined via a representative.

Since their Spotify deal collapsed, it has been stated the Duke and Duchess left executives "frustrated" with the time it took Archewell to come up with an idea for the show. It's been reported the publication added Archewell failed to honour the terms of their deal, which said both Harry and Meghan would be involved in the podcast.

Prince Harry reportedly struggled to pin down an idea for a show, after exploring possible podcasts about misinformation, veterans, and his point of view living in the US as an outsider.According to Bloomberg, he also pitched a podcast in which he would interview Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about their “childhood trauma”.The Journal also alleged Meghan would ask for last-minute changes to the episodes, reaching out to the show’s producers via senior Spotify executives including the former chief content officer Dawn Ostroff. The publication adds the Sussexes deal with Netflix is also is under fire due to "lack of productivity" as their failed project Pearl, an animated series, was cancelled.
