Scientists have issued a warning over "super gonorrhoea" with cases of the potentially fatal sexually transmitted infection on the rise across the UK.
The experts suggest that the disease could be a fatal, with the World Health Organization closely monitoring Neisseria gonorrhoea, also known as super gonorrhoea.
The WHO are now considering the STI a "priority microorganism", as they keep an eye on the "super gonorrhoea" for signs of drug-resistance.Sexually transmitted disease can spread rapidly through a population via people participating in unprotected sex.
Fortunately, most can be treated with a course of antibiotics. However, Neisseria gonorrhoea, or N. gonorrhoea, is causing concern due to its resistance to drugs, reports the Daily Star.
