A weather warning for 'disrupting' thunderstorms and possible flooding remained in force in Greater Manchester today - as the UK recorded its hottest day of the year so far.

Mancs sweltered in soaring heat on Saturday, with the mercury rising to 32.7C in Heathrow, London - a provisional 2023 record according to the Met Office.

But on Sunday, forecasters warned again of a risk of storms and heavy rainfall. A yellow-coded Met Office warning is due to come into force at 2pm today - Sunday - and remains in place until midnight.
