Sunday Brunch star Simon Rimmer says he’s ’heartbroken’ and 'can't believe it' as he’s forced to close Greens restaurant

Channel 4 Sunday brunch host Simon Rimmer has says he is 'heartbroken' after confirming the closure of one of his restaurants.

The chef and television personality confirmed today that his first restaurant, Greens, will cease trading after 33 years in business, but his second site in Sale will continue trading.

Taking to Instagram to confirm the sad news, Rimmer said he was 'heartbroken' and 'couldn't believe' he was having to close down his vegetarian restaurant in Didsbury, which he first opened in 1990 with business partner Simon Connolly.

A video shared by the chef on the platformed echoed one posted on Greens' page and detailed explained how a huge rent hike, and rising energy bills, made keeping the restaurant impossible.
