Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden made a triumphant return to the dance floor for the first time since her breast cancer diagnosis. The emotional performance left Amy in tears and physically strained, causing her to feel unwell momentarily.

After a jam-packed day of activities at a Strictly fan weekend and a charity walk through the Brecon Beacons earlier in the week, Amy took centre stage for her first public show in over a year. The Caerphilly-born professional dancer performed a powerful 45-minute routine with her husband Ben Jones, which included a samba, jive, cha cha, and a touching piece that Ben revealed was a favourite from their competition days before Amy's Strictly fame.

The couple, who met as competition dancers, are former British National Latin Dance Champions. Amy was reunited with her Strictly family for the first time in a performance setting over the weekend, reports Wales Online. The event, held at the Warner Hotel at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset, also featured performances from Strictly pros Katya, Neil, Karen, Nancy, and Carlos.

However, it was Amy's courageous return to the dancefloor, filmed as part of a BBC documentary about her cancer journey, that was chosen as the grand finale.
