Niamh McCall says Strathclyde Sirens are again targeting a play-off slot in the Vitality Netball Superleague this season, as they strive for consistency.The Strathaven star wants an improvement on last season’s eighth-placed finish, and hopes the fact the squad has stayed together for a few years will stand them in good stead.Sirens have added Australian Natalie Bright and Ugandan Stella Oyella to their squad, but otherwise it’s the same group, with Cambuslang’s Beth Goodwin, Biggar’s Emily Nicholl and Kelly Boyle of Coatbridge also back.The Emirates Arena side have made a slow start to the season with three defeats and a win under their belt.Surrey Storm beat them 68-56, Loughborough Lightning ran out 63-42 winners, and Team Bath pipped them 49-48 on Friday, with Sirens beating Severn Stars 60-51 in their second game.That leaves them sixth in the 10-team league, ahead of a home match against bottom side Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, in which Niamh will make a milestone 50th appearance for the team.“The aim for this season is definitely to do better than we did last season – that’s a big one, said the 22-year-old.“I think if we can do better than that we’ll be happy, but we’re aiming for the top four, if we can.

If not, at least top six.“We have some new faces, but Natalie Bright has been in the team before.
