A major holiday in many parts of Asia, the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, happens on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night.
The traditional festival, which is considered as one of the most important holidays - especially in Chinese culture - is celebrated by reuniting with family reunions, eating mooncakes, and getting involved with parades and lantern making.
To mark the occasion this year, the Stockport & Salford Hongkongers Community Interest Group and Yellow Economic Circle Manchester - supported by Merseyway Shopping Centre and Stockport Council - will come together for three-days of celebrations from September 15-17.
