Alex Lowry insists he’s not thinking about a January return to Rangers – even with a new boss set to be installed at Ibrox.
The attacker is keeping tabs on what’s happening at his parent club but his focus is on making the most of this loan spell at Hearts and nailing down his role with the Scotland under 21s.
Lowry – who is gearing up for the Scots kids clash with Hungary at Fir Park tomorrow night – has found his feet with the Jambos and stole the show in Saturday’s 2-2 derby draw with Hibs. His recent displays have got Gers fans questioning the decision by former boss Michael Beale to let him go – and prompted calls to activate a recall clause in January.
But Lowry said: “It’s not in my mind, my main aim is to perform for Hearts right now. Whatever happens in January happens. I couldn’t tell you who the next manager is going to be, so it’s nothing to do with me.“My focus is on impressing Steven Naismith and if he’s playing me then I’ll hopefully keep getting picked for the 21s.
