Stirling Council announces new chief executive set to step in to the role

Stirling Council has this week announced the appointment of Caroline Sinclair as its new chief executive.She takes up the role this summer, as she currently serves as Chief Officer of East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership.She succeeds Carol Beattie, who announced in March that she was standing down from the role after almost six years.Ms Sinclair brings a wealth of experience in local government and the public sector spanning more than 20 years.She has spent the past six years at East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership, firstly as Head of Service before being appointed Chief Officer in January 2020.Prior to this, she spent 15 years with Orkney Islands Council, working in a wide variety of social care service roles, including nearly three years as Chief Officer of Orkney Health and Care Partnership.Her appointment comes following a selection process, overseen by a cross-party panel of councillors.On her appointment, the incoming chief executive said: “It’s a huge privilege to have the opportunity to lead Stirling Council.
