Steven Naismith says Hearts paid the price after VAR failed to hit rewind on Rangers’ crucial second spot-kick.James Tavernier rammed the Ibrox side level in the 90th-minute before delivering the stoppage-time winner for Danilo at Ibrox.

But Gorgie boss Naismith insists the Gers captain should never have got his chance to launch the Light Blues comeback attempt.It came when John Beaton decided to point to the spot for the second time after being instructed to head to the screen for a look at Peter Haring’s tug on Connor Goldson.

But the Hearts gaffer insists it was Haring who was fouled first by Goldson’s team-mate John Lundstram - and claims the ref was not provided with a clip long enough to show it happening by the telly officials.

He said: "It's really disappointing. We're sitting here having not taken anything from the game. We played really well, we understood how the game could play out.
