Raging Steven Naismith has declared Rangers should NOT have been an awarded a penalty in the closing stages of their Ibrox defeat.And the Hearts boss declared that VAR had "failed" his side as he claimed referee John Beaton told him he was not shown an angle of a "block" in the build-up to the spot-kick.

The Jambos appeared to be on the brink of a major victory in Govan with Lawrence Shankland's goal the difference with the full-time whistle fast approaching during the Scottish Premiership clash.

However, the game would be flipped on it's head when substitute Peter Haring appeared to pull Connor Goldson's shirt - and after a VAR check whistler Beaton was sent to the monitor to review the incident and pointed to the spot.

James Tavernier would convert Rangers second penalty of the afternoon - having hit the post with his first-half effort - before Danilo netted an injury-time winner for Philippe Clement's men.And Naismith was left fuming at the full-time whistle, telling BBC Sportsound: "The penalty is a defining moment in the game.
