Steven Fletcher has urged the Dundee United board to make Jim Goodwin their manager beyond the end of the season. Former Aberdeen boss Goodwin led the Tannadice outfit to their third straight win - for the first time since October 2021 - with a 2-0 win over Livingston that lifted them four points clear of bottom club Ross County and out of the play-off on goal difference from Kilmarnock.
And captain Fletcher, whose late goal sealed the victory is convinced Goodwin - who took over when United were five points adrift at the foot of the Premiership - has proved he is the man to take the club forward.
It was a brave decision for him to take this job,” he said. “If you were standing from the outside looking in, it wasn’t a great place to come to at that moment in time. “But he sat down and looked at the squad we have got - and anyone who looked at the squad would think they can get something out of that.
And he’s been brave enough to take the job and he’s reaping the rewards just now.“One hundred percent I would like to see him getting the job beyond this season.
