EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired Latin America, France, Scandinavia, and a string of other international territories on Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, starring Pamela Anderson.

Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Israel, Eastern Europe (ex Poland), all of Asia, and Africa are also included in the SPWA deal. Set amid the the glittering world of Las Vegas entertainment, the Toronto Film Festival debut is told through the eyes of Shelley (Anderson), a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.

Pic co-stars Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Shelley’s best friend, Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Brenda Song (Love), Kiernan Shipka (Longleg) and Billie Lourd (Booksmart).

The ensemble cast won the Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival last weekend. Roadside Attractions has North American rights and is planning an awards season release.
