Scottie Scheffler has revealed insights into the financial dynamics with his caddie following a staggering year where he pocketed almost £50m.In 2024, the American golf star had an extraordinary run of form, bagging a second Masters victory in April and wrapping up the year triumphantly at the FedEx Cup, which brought him a handsome £19m.
Throughout the year, he added numerous PGA Tour wins and top-10 placements to his name.Scheffler's astounding success translated into average earnings of £2.5m per tournament, over £628,000 for each round, and around £9,000 per golf shot.
With those sums, it's no surprise that Ted Scott, his caddie, has also seen his bank balance substantially swell, placing him at the pinnacle of caddie earnings. Before the grand win at the FedEx Cup, Scott had already amassed upwards of £2m from the PGA Tour alone, putting him in 58th place if he were ranked among players on the money list, even out-earning Jordan Spieth, who is a three-time major champion and a friend of Scheffler's.
Caddies typically get a cut from their golfer's winnings - about 10 per cent for a win, 7 per cent for a top-10 finish, and 5 per cent for making the cut.
