Rylan Clark has opened up about his decision to step down as the host of Strictly's It Takes Two.The TV presenter announced he was leaving the show in April last year.

After a glittering four-year stint on the much-loved BBC spin-off show, Rylan shared an emotional farewell on social media: "Been a pleasure @bbcstrictly." His heartfelt message went on: "After four fantastic years it's time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two.

I've had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can't thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show." Emphasising his affection for the Strictly experience, he added: "I've been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me.The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me.Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart...and my dancing feet." The seasoned presenter first joined the beloved chat show back in 2019, where he spent delightful moments with former co-hosts Zoe Ball and, more recently, Janette Manrara.

Now, Fleur East, another former X Factor favourite, has stepped into his shoes. Rylan, the BBC Radio 2 star, spilled the beans on why he decided to step away from his TV show, despite it causing a stir with his agents.
