A Rutherglen community councillor is appealing to residents to join his Neighbourhood Watch.Barry Cathie launched Cathkin Neighbourhood Watch in March 2022 and has already made an impact within the community.From helping locals deal with youth disorder and vandalism to voicing their concerns regarding speed limits, the 32-year-old has acted as a middleman between the community and the local authorities.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

We are a group that people trust, and although some folk may be wary of contacting the council or the police with things, we can do that on their behalf.“We don’t only just give the area more of a presence, but we also alert residents about what is going on in the community.
