Scottish Socialist Party campaigning on free public transport in Rutherglen

The Scottish Socialist Party were out in force in Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Blantyre, campaigning on free public transport for people of all ages.

Leaflets were distributed to shoppers and workers in local shops and cafes, calling for public ownership of all forms of public transport, with free travel for everyone on buses, trains, subways, and ferries.

Bill Bonnar, local resident and SSP candidate in the event of a Rutherglen & Hamilton West by-election, said: “We were overwhelmed by the positive reaction of local people and want to thank them for their support.
