Good Morning Britain viewers have said they are 'gobsmacked' as Richard Madeley made a blunder when asking about the victims of the recent Manchester tornado amid Storm Gerrit.

Families were left 'shaking and screaming' when extreme weather hit Stalybridge in Tameside earlier this week. Experts have since confirmed it was a tornado that hit the Carbrook and Millbrook areas of Stalybridge at around 11:45pm on Wednesday (December 27).

Locals reported hearing a 'noise that sounded like a bomb' as '25-30 seconds' of extremely high winds and rain battered the area.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported but homes have been left destroyed in the area. Around 100 properties were damaged, with some having their roofs completely ripped off, while the winds blew tiles and chimneys off others, as well as trees being uprooted and cars damaged by flying debris.
