Report: Drake will no longer be deposed at XXXTentacion murder trial

Drake will not be forced to sit for a deposition in the murder trial of XXXTentacion, TMZ reports, after Judge Michael A. Usan granted the Canadian rapper's motion to avoid sitting down for an interview.

The news is a reversal from last week's developments in the case, which saw a lawyer for one of the men accused in the murder successfully argue that Drake should be deposed.

Mauricio Padilla, attorney for Dedrick Williams, told the court that XXXTentacion's public disputes with Drake were legitimate cause for questioning him.

Bradford Cohen, Drake's lawyer, convinced the judge that his client has no relevant information to the case, and the motion to cancel the deposition was approved.

The Animation Guild, announced on Wednesday that it is organizing with approximately 80 production workers at Walt Disney Animation Studios and that a unionization vote with the National Labor Relations Board will be held after the studio refused to voluntarily recognize the union.The Animation Guild has had several successful unionization drives for animation production workers at several prominent studios, including Nickelodeon and Titmouse, as well as amongst workers on several high-profile animated TV series like “Rick & Morty.” Now it is turning its attention to Hollywood’s most prominent animation house, looking to organize production managers, supervisors and coordinators. Lucasfilm Sued for ‘Egregious’ Firing of Producer on ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘The Acolyte’
Ethan Shanfeld Lucasfilm, the production company home to all things “Star Wars,” has been hit with a wrongful termination lawsuit from “Ballers” executive producer Karyn McCarthy, who was axed from the Disney+ series “The Acolyte” after just a few weeks of work. According to a complaint obtained by Variety, “As a result of its bad faith and wrongful termination, Defendants deprived Ms. McCarthy significant employment, from which she would have earned millions of dollars over the [life] of the series.” Two weeks after Lucasfilm and McCarthy apparently settled on a “broad strokes” agreement, “without explanation, without reason, without justification, Lucasfilm told McCarthy it wanted out of the deal,” per the complaint.
