Chris Sutton admits Reo Hatate DID dive against St Mirren after a wind-up from Kris Boyd - but he had a quickfire answer ready and waiting for his Sky Sports pal.
Celtic beat St Mirren 3-0 on Saturday to extend their lead to four points at the top of the Premiership. Rangers are out to cut it back down to one on Sunday and the familiar punditry pair appeared on TV in the build-up to their game with Ross County in Dingwall.
When they're on the screen together, attempted wind-ups are never far away, and so it proved ahead of kick-off in the Highlands. Before the focus shifted to the live game, the two poured over the action from Celtic Park and Boyd noticed one incident in the first half was missing from the highlight reel.
Referring to an incident where Hatate went down easily under minimal contact from Marcus Fraser, he sarcastically said: "We didn't see Hatate getting a sore one in the first half as well, when he fell over." A magnanimous Sutton then said: "He did go down too easy yeah, he did dive," before an apparent nod to Fabio Silva's antics in the Old Firm derby last weekend.
