Rail passengers in Scotland may face some disruption this weekend as a bout of industrial action is set to take place.Members of the train drivers’ union, ASLEF, plan to take strike action on Friday, 1 September.
And on Saturday, September 2, there will be a ban on any non-contractual overtime, meaning that some services will be affected.Anyone expecting to cross the border will be hit by the action.
The strikes mainly affect cross-country trains between England and Scotland with companies such as LNER and Avanti West Coast.In a statement, ScotRail said: "No ScotRail services will be impacted by strike action on Friday, 1 September."RMT union members will also walk out on Saturday, but according to ScotRail, the 'vast majority' of routes will remain unaffected on this day.Here's everything that rail passengers should be aware of this weekend.Scotrail has said that a small number of services will be disrupted on this day due to the strike action.
