Primary school pupils will benefit from free breakfast clubs under Labour's plans unveiled in the King's Speech today. In his speech at the State Opening of Parliament, the monarch set out Labour's legislative agenda for the coming months.

Among more than 30 bills being worked on is the Children’s Wellbeing Bill - 'to raise standards in education and promote children’s wellbeing'.

Once approved, it will require 'free breakfast clubs in every primary school to ensure that every child, no matter their circumstances, is well prepared for the school day and can achieve their full potential'.
