Christopher Hemsworth (born 11 August 1983) is an Australian actor. He rose to prominence playing Kim Hyde in the Australian TV series Home and Away (2004–07) before beginning a film career in Hollywood by taking on parts in the science fiction film Star Trek (2009) and the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009).
Hemsworth went on to star in the fantasy film Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), the war film Red Dawn (2012), the action thriller Blackhat (2015), the biographical thriller In the Heart of the Sea (2015), the comedy Ghostbusters (2016), and the Men in Black film series spin-off Men in Black: International (2019). His most critically acclaimed roles include the comedy horror The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and the biographical sports film Rush (2013), in which he portrayed James Hunt.
Prolific shoplifter banned from Co-Op stores for two years
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA shoplifter has been banned from entering Co-Operative stores in Cheshire for two years. Christopher Downes was handed a criminal behaviour order for "over two decades" of shoplifting.
Downes of Bollington Road, Bollington, will not be allowed entry at the Co-Op in Macclesfield town centre and any other Co-Op shop in the county.
The 59-year-old was given the order at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday (August 7) under the CBO which was applied by Macclesfield South Beat Management. Downes will now only be allowed to enter the town centre to attend pre-arranged appointments at Macclesfield Police Station or the doctors surgery on Sunderland Street.
He could face a prison sentence if he is found in breach of it. Sergeant Matthew Bassirat, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: "Christopher Downes has been causing problems within this town through shoplifting for over two decades. "I hope the granting of this CBO can provide some reassurance to residents and businesses in the area and will deter Downes' behaviour in the future. "If he fails to comply with the conditions, he could face time in prison.
